The Pain We Spread
(Jotabé of thirteen syllables)
Let me go, oh you attractive and exhausting pain,
I am simply sick of being a friend of this chain.
As I pass close through the Earth because of my mistake
I can even hear the flames of those who are so fake;
as I raise so high like a traitor summer snowflake
and He makes up for what is done while I dream awake.
There are too many little things without being said,
should I have swallowed them all and not seeing them
[dead?
Probably all these challenging words have been in vein
and I repeat: "Oh Lord, would you please give me a break?"
or You and I, at least, get out of my perplexed head.

[temores.
